In Painting with Water, Kristine Plum will provide instruction on composition, value study and transparent watercolor painting techniques on paper.  This is a 4 week paining class starting on the first Friday of each month.  You must register 7 days prior to class.

  • Butcher Tray 11 x 15, for mixing washes (paints)*
  • Rectangle “kitchen” sponges, with no scouring side – Large 6” x 3.5”*
  • Brushes:  ¾ inch Flat sable hair, * #12  round sable, #7 round sable, (synthetic OK)
  • Optional detail brush #2 round sable

Watercolor paints size 5ml:

  • Naples Yellow
  • *Paynes Grey
  • Alizarin Crimson
  • Cadmium Red
  • French Ultramarine Blue
  • Cobalt Blue
  • Lemon Yellow
  • Cadmium Yellow Light or Pale
  • *Burnt Umber
  • Burnt Siena
  • Extras, Yellow Ochre, Cerulean Blue

Other Supplies:

  • *Paper Towels Preferably Viva
  • *9 x 12  watercolor paper DeArches Block #140 lb cold press (20 sheets)
  • 9” x 6”  size Sketch Diary
  • Color Wheel, (it does not have to be watercolor)
  • *Plastic Water container that holds about 4 cups or more
  • Plexi-glass 12” x 18” approximately, (Available at Ace Hardware)
  • Masking tape

Class # 1 value study, supplies:

  • Butcher Tray, clean kitchen sponge
  • ¾” Flat brush
  • #7 and #12 round sable brush
  • 5ml Paynes Grey watercolor paint
  • 5ml Burnt Umber watercolor paint
  • roll of paper towel
  • plastic water container
  • 9 x 12 watercolor paper De Arches Block  #140lb cold pressed

I prefer Windsor and Newton transparent watercolor paint

Do not buy Gouache opaque paint
