May’s Promise Original Watercolor
May’s Promise original watercolor by Kristine Plum is painted on paper. The painting image is 21″ x 27″. It has an acid free double matting of cream with a rose grey insert. The matted painting fits a 30″ x 36″ frame.
The frame has a flower relief on it. The white of the painting is the actual watercolor paper. The transparent watercolor technique does not use white to achieve the light areas of the painting. The Saucer Magnolia tree which grows as far north as Illinois and Southern Wisconsin is much smaller than the Magnolia Grandeflora of the southern United States. It grows it’s flower from buds that wait all winter long to open in April, or even earlier in it’s southern zones.
